Cape Cod bottom fishing offers one of the unique fishing experiences on the Cape.

Fish species you'll catch bottom fishing include: Porgy, a silvery, small-mouth fish with strong jaw teeth ranging up to 1 lb; the Tautog, a game fish that weighs up to 6 lbs and can be found around rocks and piers feeding on mollusks that attach themselves to these rocks and ledges; and the Fluke or Summer Flounder, which has a brown top side and a white bottom side and can be fished along the East Coast near the shore in summer.

Cape Cod Canal Fishing Spots.

The Cape Cod Canal offers some of the best fishing on the Cape. Both fishing and lobstering are regulated by the State of Massachusetts. With proper licenses, fishing is permitted almost everywhere along the Cape Cod Canal banks with the exception of the Canal Administration area in Buzzards Bay and Massachusetts Maritime Academy. There is a special access point designed for handicapped fisherman at the Scusset Beach fishing pier and at Sandwich bulkhead area.
